Welcome. Let's see if I can help you by answering a few questions new visitors usually have:

What is this site about?

It is all about helping you get the most out of your rowing equipment. I write articles, teach workshops, and coach coaches (and athletes) about rigging and rowing equipment. Possibly there is information here for you.

How can you help me?

The information here is very easy to follow, even for the less technically-minded. You can apply much of it straight away to your own rowing, making it better than before. This might mean being a little faster, or a little less stressed, or save a little money, or even a little safer.

Where is your best info?

That's hard to say, since visitors are usually unique in what they want, or what problems they need to solve. A quick search might get you where you want to go (search box just a little bit below).

Do you offer services for further advice?

Sure do, I often consult or do clinics on site. I discuss those below.

Do you have a post on ________?

Perhaps! Use the search function in the sidebar or the one coming up to find something helpful. If nothing relevant comes up, then submit a question and possibly I will write a post on it.

I'm new to rowing! Help!

Inhale. Exhale. Take a deep breath. We all start somewhere, and in essence that is what this site is really about. I might suggest you sign up for my quick course on rigging (on the home page, left hand corner) as a good start.

I can help you or your team through a number of different ways:

1. Posts, Articles, and Videos. Price = Free

I offer numerous solutions to help you. You'll find plenty of material on topics here on the site. To get right to what you are looking for do a search. Plug in your topic below:

2. Submit A Question (Dumb or smart . . . doesn't matter). Price = Free

One of the best ways to get better, or smarter, is to ask questions. I ask tons of them, all the time. Feel free to send along questions about your rigging or rowing. To do so, just click here.

3. Special Report Solutions. Price < $5.00

I've written several Special Reports on topics that seem to be bothersome to rowers, coxswains and coaches. To find out more about them, just click here.

4. Rigging Book - Nuts and Bolts Guide To Rigging (digital download). Price = $27.00

If you're looking for very specific guidance on how to get the most out of your rowing and rigging you may want to try my book, The Nuts and Bolts Guide to Rigging. It has been the best selling book on rigging for years.

5. Let's Consult. Price = $97.00 US per hour

Talking through a problem (rigging, boat speed, what to buy, coaching jobs, etc.) can not only be enlightening, but also very productive in solving a problem. I've been consulting with rowers and coaches for years, often with great success.

Consults are usually 6o minutes, over the phone. Price is $97.00 US per hour, usually done over Skype.

If you are interested, just send me an email with a description of the problem and I will respond as to whether a consult would be the best step to take. Expert consultations can help lower your stress, ease your frustrations and make rowing more enjoyable. One consultation may save you time, effort, energy, money… and even help you win more often.

To book a consultation email me today.

6. A Clinic = Price Varies

If you're interested in an engaging, clear, and practical clinic or workshop on rigging and rowing equipment you're in luck.

I travel around the country offering rigging and rowing equipment clinics, workshops, consultation and coaching to individual athletes, coaches and teams, helping rowers get the most they can out of the sport.

You see, rigging mistakes can be expensive. They can cause injury, break equipment, waste money or help you lose races.

With over 100 rigging clinics under my belt and world-class experience, I have the expertise you need. A retired U.S. National Rowing Team boatman and  educational consultant for different rowing groups, I offer the knowledge to get your speed up, your stress down, your safety on board and your mind in the Zone.

Using a simple, straightforward approach (and a good dose of humor), clinics and workshops help rowers and coaches navigate the mysteries and misunderstandings of rowing equipment. You'll learn:

  • How to maintain and adjust your equipment, and why you should
  • Ways to transport your equipment to save yourself from headaches
  • Discover the best rigging numbers for a great experience
  • Learn how to determine your own personal rigging numbers
  • Reduce your rigging and rowing stress (you know you have it)
  • Learn how to really enjoy the demanding, competitive sport of rowing

Just a beginner? A serious expert? Somewhere in between? No problem. I'm able to work with anyone who wants to love the sport more or get more out of it. And if you have a specific topic you'd like to hear about or work on, just ask. I can tailor clinics and consultations specifically for your needs.
